Mr. Freed directs Third Way’s Clean Energy Initiative. He comes to Third Way from GMMB, where he was a Vice President and provided strategic communications counsel for a variety of political and public affairs clients, including the Obama for America presidential campaign and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He also served as the communications director for the Obama Colorado caucus campaign. Prior to that, Freed ran the Washington, D.C. office and served as the chief policy advisor for U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews (D-N.J.), and was Deputy Chief of Staff for U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Mr. Freed graduated from Brandeis University and received a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland-College Park. Before working on Capitol Hill, Freed served as a political and public affairs consultant, advising Fortune 500 companies, state-wide, Congressional, and local campaigns.
